The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is easily one of my favorite travel destinations. It’s only about a six hour drive from home and has some of the best hiking and best scenery I’ve experienced in a landlocked National Park. There’s something green everywhere you look, lots of streams and waterfalls, colorful flowers and a lot of wildlife to see throughout the park (bears included!). A sunset view from Morton Overlook along Newfound Gap Road. Pentax *istDS. One of many flowing streams in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Pentax *istDS. Some beautiful scenery and photo opportunities can easily be found driving...

Today is July 4th, Independence Day in the USA. The Fourth of July is usually a day to gather with friends and family, enjoy food, go to parades and, of course, watch fireworks. Instead of fireworks, here are some photos of our nation’s capitol, Washington DC. First up is the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial. When visiting Washington DC and the National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial is one of the most inspiring monuments you’ll see for multiple...

Here it is, the first desktop wallpaper for the new C.E.G. Photography website! The photo was taken atop Gregory Bald in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was nearly a 12 mile hike in total and the change in elevation to get to the top was over 3,000 feet. The highest elevation is...
