Polar Bears – Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

At the Columbus Zoo, the Polar Frontier area of the North America region is where you’ll find the Polar Bears habitat and it is a pretty cool place to see. The Polar Frontier area is built to look like an abandoned mining town in the Arctic Circle and contains habitats for the Alaskan Brown Bears, Arctic Foxes and, of course, the Polar Bears.

What makes the Polar Bear habitat so cool is that, in addition to the open air areas where the bears can roam, sleep and play, there is also a 167,000 gallon pool that visitors to the zoo can walk under to see the polar bears when they are swimming and playing the water. It is a fun thing to see when the bears are diving or swimming around and even more fun when you get to see them from under the pool area.
