To finish out this run of Ohio State University themed photos from the past week I have this shot of the Lane Avenue Bridge. I shot this photo of one of the Lane Avenue Bridge’s pylons looking up from this perspective because I like looking at architecture from different views. So...

The NHL season is over and the Chicago Blackhawks have added another Stanley Cup to their history by beating the Bruins in the finals this year. With the close of the season, the NHL Draft just started this week and I remembered some of the shots I’ve taken at OSU Hockey games in the...
Mirror Lake at Night
posted by CEGPhoto
Today’s Photo of the Day is one of the many shots of The Ohio State University that I have in my archive – a handheld night shot of Mirror Lake near the South Oval of the OSU campus. Low light photography is very fun but it is always tricky, especially when shooting handheld with...
Ohio State University (POTW – June 27)
posted by CEGPhoto
It was a slow photographic week for me so, to make up for the lack of new photos, I have a few shots from the past that were all taken at my Alma Mater – the home of Buckeye Country, The Ohio State University. 🙂 I’ve got to say, I didn’t get very far into my photo archive when I realized I have tons more OSU photos that I want to share so, after today’s Photos of the Week, expect some more Photos of the Day featuring Ohio State University subjects. Now, on to this week’s photos… People say you should save the best for last but I’m not going to do that today. This first photograph is one of...

I absolutely love purple flowers. Purple is such a vibrant and happy color that brightens any area so when I saw this purple crocus growing by itself during a lunchtime walk, I had to stop and get a quick photo of it opening up. I took this shot with my smartphone because that’s all I...

If a relaxing beach is calling your name but you also have a taste for thrills then a vacation at Disney’s Polynesian Resort may be just the thing for you. I get relaxed just looking at this shot of the resort’s beach front. Where’s my Pina Colada? 🙂 When you’re down...
Flowers (Photos of the Week – June 20)
posted by CEGPhoto
Welcome to my first ever Photos of the Week post! The focus for this week is one of the favorite subjects for many photographers (myself included), flowers. All of these photos were taken within the past week to ten days with my trusty old Pentax *ist DS. Yes, its the same Pentax *ist DS that got soaked during the trip to Orlando a couple years ago. It may have lost its ability to auto-focus but it still takes great photos, works with all my lenses and just keeps going. So, on to the photos… The first one, the yellow rose, was taken a couple weekends ago at the Whetstone Park of Roses annual Rose Festival. That was actually...

Ohio weather is a mysterious and fickle beast. One day we can have a good dumping of snow and the next it’s all melted under the warm sun. The calendar says that spring is finally here but, some days, it doesn’t feel like it. Today is one of those days and it got me thinking...
